Nepal, Kathmandu.
5 days in Nepal were needed for overdue laundry and rest.
We started out feeling bad for not doing more sightseeing there, but it felt so good to rest, we let that guilt go in a hurry.
On the way there, we flew over Mt. Everest! Unfortunately, we were all seated on the far left of the plane while Everest was best seen through the windows on the right side. The young Bhutanese gentleman seated next to us asked for our phone cameras, then passed it to a Chinese tourist seated by the
window, asking if he’d snap a photo for us!
Kathmandu was bustling, but felt easy, though we rarely left our boutique hotel. The ground floor restaurant rarely had people, so often we ate alone.
This Nepal respite also gave us the opportunity to reflect. By this point we’d visited 8 countries, so created a spreadsheet to compare. (see home page for country factsheets)
