Vicente García

There is a concert just outside the window at the hotel where we’re staying, Selina Arequipa. The boys are sleeping in bunk beds in our family hotel room. Vicente García is performing in the courtyard area not far from the pool and because we’re hotel guests, we didn’t have to pay the 153 Peruvian soles ($40USD) ticket prices. On Spotify, his most downloaded song (over 93 million) is called Carmesí, which I recognized from the show. I’ll admit that more than once I thought, “This is loud. I hope it doesn’t go too late.” But mostly, I thought it was cool we learned about a Latin music pop star and got box seats to his show.
