Seattle stopover.
Flying from Lima to Beijing is cheaper if you stopover in Seattle, which worked out perfectly for us because we have dear friends who live in Seattle. Taking 10 days in between our first and second countries worked out perfectly. We reassessed the pace we were keeping, the clothes we packed, we got to enjoy other company besides our own, and most important, we rested.
The Deicherts - Dave, Amy, Elodie, and Emerie - were generous with their space and time and resources. We loved being part of their lives, joining for soccer games, and eating Amy’s fresh sourdough. Another of Josh’s life long friends, Sean, joined for some golf and frivolity, and I got to share a bottle of wine and an octopus salad with one of my best mates, Ryan. Josh also got in to see a retina specialist, which helped us make decisions about next steps.
