Southern Namibia.
From Cape Town, South Africa, we set off north to Namibia in a fully-equipped Toyota Hilux 4x4 safari camper. Even after two flat fires in the first three days with temps well into the 100s, we were undeterred. Sweaty and tired, but undeterred. Fish River Canyon was magnificent. The coastal town of Lüderitz (and the nearby ghost town) had a strange, colonial vibe, as did many places.
The most striking part of traveling in Namibia is the landscape of endlessness. After deflating our tires to the recommended amount for travel on sand and gravel, we avoided flat tires and drove for miles and miles and miles. You’ll see, we took photo after photo of Namibia’s beautiful expanse.
