Thimphu, Bhutan.
The capital of Bhutan, Thimphu has so much to offer. We enjoyed a challenging hike to the Dodeydrak Monastery and chats with the monks, touring the Punakha Fortress, and taking our photo with the tallest Buddha in Bhutan overlooking the Thimphu Valley.
The Takin Reserve was another highlight. We’d never heard of, much less seen one of these interesting looking creatures.
Legend has it the Divine Madman created the animal in the 15th century as proof of his miraculous powers.
Josh walked across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan, with beautiful views of the Pho Chhu (male) and Mo Chhu (female) rivers. Chilies of every kind were the heroes, as we captured goods for sale in every color of the rainbow at the Thimphu market.

Many of the monks were on out on vacation, but we got to chat with these lovely young men.
