The turtles!!! The hawksbill sea turtles and the green sea turtles were swimming, no, gliding, drifting, lazing, in the water today surrounding Gili Meno. With our flippers, goggles, and snorkels - a bumbling attempt at mimicking sea life - we bobbed and floated into their space. The biggest one we saw was the size of a manhole cover. She stayed on the ocean floor and I loved her for it. No need to perform for this or any crowd of sea gazers.
Two monkeys played in the road on our way to the boat harbor. We didnโt expect to see monkeys, so it left us speechless and wide-eyed with delight. So fun!
I think when your parents are your teachers, you donโt quite feel the need to keep it together when frustrations arise. Iโve heard Iโve-had-it phrases from the boys like, โMine doesnโt WORK!!!!โ โI HATE this!!!!โ and โItโs impossible!!!โ Working through this together is a deeply valuable experience. Not fun, but good for us.
Weโre moving along in the Hobbit. Dwarfs and orks and elves and wizards and dragons never did much for me and this book is no exception. I enjoy reading with the boys, however, and them taking turns reading aloud is the best part for me. Then of course weโll watch the movie and visit Hobbiton.
