Date snafu

Cusco, Peru

Snafu in our trip dates - we had already purchased tickets to fly to Seattle today, the 5th, but had been planning around leaving on Friday, tomorrow, the 6th. The boys and I were on a bus back to Cusco from Aguas Calientes when Josh texted and told me.

Our mix-up is discouraging. Emergency eye surgery is out of our control, but knowing what the dates on our plane tickets is very much in our control.

So, do we a) surrender the non-refundable overnight bus tickets we bought for the boys and I to return to Arequipa from Cusco, cancel our existing flights to Lima and book new ones, or b) take the bus back, pay a flight change fee for our tickets to Lima for the correct date, get to Seattle a day later than we thought, and miss Megan Rapinoe’s last home game with the OL Reign.

We’re tired and ready to go. We want to drink water from the tap and be able to flush toilet paper. We have been so looking forward going to the soccer game with the Deicherts. We choose “a.”
