Suspicious memory

Auckland, New Zealand

A memory from to recall:

Julie, the Chinese woman who drove us to the Great Wall in a Buick minivan on a Saturday in October, was talking to us briefly about global politics on the way. She was quite sympathetic to Russia being upset about Ukraine. "What if your neighbor decided to side with all your other neighbors, wouldn’t that be a threat to you? Wouldn’t you feel unsafe?” She also called Israel sneaky, like a monkey. Neither Josh or I could totally decipher through her accent the exact words, but she mentioned something about the Nazis, and referenced Israel and Jewish people in relation to Hitler. Josh cleverly asked if she had ever traveled. His hunch was right - she’d never left China.
