The Packed Bhutan

When we first arrived in Bhutan we immediately found an ATM because we have had trouble finding ATMs in other countries, so yeah. We got out of the airport and a tour guide was waiting for us and my parents didn't even tell me that we had a tour guide, I was kind of excited.

Our tour guide, named Tshering and our driver named Ugyen gave my family scarves that were a welcome gift for us. Tshering brought us to lunch but it was 4 pm so for us it was dinner. When we got to the place to have โ€œlunchโ€ our waiter brought us soooo much food we only ate half of it. Did I mention how cold it was? It was perfect, like in the 45 Fahrenheit to 30 Fahrenheit. When we got to our hotel that we would be staying at for three nights the people there offered us tea or coffee, super annoying. We had to wait a little bit to get to our rooms because we had two rooms but when we got into our rooms we felt so good to be able to lay down because it was a long day. In Bhutan their TV channels are pretty good so that's nice.

Day Two:

Today was going to take a 3 hour hike to see some monks i think, to be totally honest it was not worth it because first of all you had two take a hike and i HATE hikes and second of all the reward you get is a view of the place that they stay in and i don't personally like views and thirdly it was at a high elevation so it was hard to breath. When we got to the top Tshering told us we could play soccer but there was no ball, Tshering said they were on vacation. Eventually we figured out that when we were at the top it wasn't the top so yeah that means more walking, groan. When we got to the actual top we saw some monks and then we went to a lunch place at the monks place while my mom and dad went to a temple. When they came back we wanted to leave right away so it didn't get dark. When we got back we went back to the hotel and got offered tea and watched some TV and slept.

Day Three:

Today we were going to travel around in the city and go to some temples. Our first stop was going to be a place where there are heaters, a cafe and a place where you can see the Himalayas but all Ari and I did was play cards and I think it was worth it because it was super cold outside. Our next stop was lunch and on the way there I was car sick because we were on super windy roads and I was in the very back seat so I eventually puked, not a good feeling. When we got to the lunch place Ari and I wanted to stay so dad and mom went. When they were gone, Ari and I just played cards and ordered some fries with ketchup. When my mom and dad got back we went back home so that was the shortest day that we had. When we got back we ordered dinner at our hotel. After we ate our dinner, we watched TV and went to bed.

Day four:

I am going to say a lot of things but they are not going to be in order, so bear with me. That day we had Bhutanese ice cream and Tshering said it was pretty bad but when we had it, it wasn't that bad. We went to the big Buddha. It is the statue of the big Buddha. There is no better way to describe it but you could go to it and look at all of the artifacts in it. There was a takin that was at a rescue/zoo place. And it is an animal that I think not that many Americans know but it is an animal that has a goat head and a cow body, super weird I know. There were also two boars in the zoo and one of them didn't have a leg because it got caught in a trap because people were illegally hunting them, SUPER mean, I know. We went to two food markets and they both had food, obviously. There was so much food i can't name them all but one of their most famous foods is the chili. It is a spicy pepper and the people there use the peppers and mix it with cheese. My dad loves it because he likes cheese and he likes spicy things, so yeah. At the end of the day we started to do archery and Ari said it was going to be hard and then I was like โ€œno it is not because I am here.โ€ So of course i was the first person to hit it and so on but when my mom was like โ€œwell i don't want to be the only one to not hit itโ€. When she eventually hit it she was the only one to actually stick it on the target Ari, dad and I just hit the target and bounced off. When we all hit it we went back to our different hotel and we wrote on postcards for our family, spoiler alert.

Day five:

Today we were going to The Tiger's Nest. It is the most popular hike in Bhutan and it is 3 hours long. We got there and we saw horses because if you โ€œthinkโ€ you can't take it then you just take the horse half way up. When we started we were going super slow because of me and then we saw a dog that went up as well and just flew by us like it was nothing. We got to the halfway point and we got little cookies just for a snack, they weren't that good. We walked the rest of the way up and when mom and dad went into the temple Ari and me just stayed back and played cards. When they were done we headed back and it went 100 times faster than going up. Then we went back to the archery place and I hit the target 25 times, I was impressed by myself that never happens. When we got back to our hotel we had to pack because we were going to wake up early to go to the airport to leave Bhutan. LEO OUT.
